Get the big screen ready, grab your remote control, order some wings, buy some beer and get ready for a tremendous day in college football on Saturday, Oct. 4.

The high flying Texas A&M offense (2nd in overall points per game at 51.2) travels to Starkville, MS to face a Bulldogs’ team that only allows 16.5 points per game. It’s an early start at noon right after College GameDay on ESPN.

Florida Gators (2-1) at Tennessee Volunteers (2-2) – 12:00 PM
This could be a make or break game for Gators’ head coach Will Muschamp who needs to win if he has any chance of keeping his job. Tennessee has played well this season under second year head coach Butch Jones and almost pulled off an upset last week at Georgia.

(3) Alabama Crimson Tide (4-0) at (11) Ole Miss Rebels (4-0) – 3:30 PM
With Florida State struggling to remain the No. 1 team in the country and Oregon’s loss on Thursday night to Arizona, the doors are opened for Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide to regain the top position in the polls. A victory against Ole Miss on Saturday will give voters a little something extra to think about when casting their vote on Sunday.
It won’t be easy for Alabama however as their new high-flying offense led by offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin will have to face an Ole Miss defense ranked third overall in the country in points allowed (8.5 ppg).

(4) Oklahoma Sooners (4-0) at (25) TCU Horned Frogs (3-0) – 3:30 PM
Bob Stoops and the Oklahoma Sooners will need to be at their very best to defeat TCU on Saturday in Fort Worth. Gary Patterson’s TCU defense is playing well once again allowing only seven points per game which is good for second overall in the country. TCU is also scoring 44.7 points per game, good enough for ninth in the country.
Meanwhile, the Sooners are eight in scoring offense at 44.8 points and 17th in overall defense.

(14) Stanford Cardinal (3-1) at (9) Notre Dame Fighting Irish (4-0) – 3:30 PM
Many think that the Cardinal should be 4-0 but they lost to USC 13-10 in Week 2. Stanford has the stingiest defense in the country allowing only 6.5 ppg.
Notre Dame is fourth overall in points allowed per game at 11.5 so expect a low scoring defensive battle in South Bend.

(15) LSU Tigers (4-1) at (5) Auburn Tigers (4-0) – 7:00 PM
What else can we say about a 7:00 PM Saturday night game in the SEC? The Auburn Tigers will face a tough battle against an LSU team that has already lost once this season. The LSU defense will need to play extremely well to slow down an Auburn offense that averages over 42 points per game.
It is the Auburn spread offense that has carried the team this year. The Auburn rushing attack has accounted for 260 yards per game and victories over Arkansas and Kansas State have proven that Auburn is for real once again this year.
Despite having only one loss, Les Miles and LSU have their backs against the wall as another loss would put them out of the national championship conversation. So look for the ‘riverboat gambler’ to have a few tricks up his sleeve Saturday night in Jordan-Hare Stadium.

(19) Nebraska Cornhuskers (5-) at (10) Michigan State Spartans (3-1) – 8:00 PM
The Big Ten takes center stage Saturday night on ABC as the nation’s third best running attack from Nebraska (354.8 yards per game) faces the staunch Michigan State defense in Lansing.
The Spartans’ defense has not been as good this season as in seasons past. The defense is ranked 35th in points allowed, mainly because of the 46 points scored by Oregon in Week 2. Sparty will need to slow down a Nebraska rushing attack that brings to mind those great Cornhuskers running teams of the 70s and 80s.
The question coming into this game is are the Cornhuskers as good as their 5-0 record would indicate? By winning a tough conference battle on the road, expect the Cornhuskers to jump up near the top 10 if they pull off the upset.
